Sam Starr is an Associate Director on the Formative Marketing & Strategy team with a specialty in delivering value through solution design projects focused on market research, product research and design, user experience and program management. Sam has developed and managed programs with clients such as Gates Ventures, National Geographic and Microsoft.
Prior to joining Formative, Sam spent 6 years at GreenRubino, leading business consulting, paid media and analytics efforts for clients in the technology, nonprofit, financial and educational sectors.
When he’s not building Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint decks, Sam is a self-proclaimed hobby enthusiast—constantly exploring new activities and communities in the California Bay Area. His latest fascination? Free diving, sparked by a documentary (a recurring theme in his hobby discoveries).
Sam holds a BA in Sociology and Economics from Whitman College.
