Creative Director

Josh is Formative’s resident Creative Director, bringing strategy to life through his work on user experience and user interface design, brand design, animation, motion graphics, and story art. He effectively integrates campaign creative strategies into Formative’s multi-channel approach. Josh has been awarded four Emmys and six Telly Awards in the span of his career for his broadcast graphics work. Most recently, his team was awarded a silver ADDY award in corporate social responsibility for its work on Microsoft’s Critical Distance Campaign.

Josh has designed creative content for Amazon, Microsoft, the George Lucas Educational Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Gates Ventures, Vulcan, Intel, Group Health, the Seattle Seahawks, and more.

When he's not pushing pixels, you'll find Josh spending his free time sitting in traffic, daydreaming about hiking in the GNW and pretty much everything outdoors—except mosquitoes. Josh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Art & 3D Animation from Henry Cogswell College.
